.summer dreamin'.

Yesterday the weather was in the 50's!!  Yes, you heard me correct..in the 50's in early March in Minnesota.Talk about coming in like a lamb!  When I was growing up my mom wouldn't let me wear shorts in the winter. She always said it had to be at least 50* before I could wear them. And you bet it, as soon as the mercury hit that beloved 5-0 I was putting on my shorts and running around dreaming about summer vacation!

So in spirit of that, I HAD to look at some cute dresses for this summer. Here are some of my favorites that if I had tons of money I would buy them all right now!

And because I'm slightly practical, here is a little something I could wear year round...like right now!!

So what items are on your summer dreaming list?

p.s. Isn't this model just the cutest girl ever!

Tuesday Tunes: The Pogues

It's March, which means it is time to start preparing for St. Patricks Day. The best way to do this is by listening to great Irish inspired music. Don't know any? Well, no worries, I'm here to help you. This month (yes the WHOLE month..even after St. Patty's) I will be featuring an Irish sounding/inspired group on Tuesday Tunes.

The first band is one of my favorites, The Pogues. Dave and I have big fans of them for a few years now. The Pogues have been referred to as a Celtic Punk band, thus a reason why they are popular within the punk music scene. (The first time I heard of them was from a Punk/Rock VJ on Fuse)  They got together in London around 1982 with Shane MacGowan as the lead singer, you may recognize him as the person with the most f*cked up teeth EVER.  And like every rock group, they made it big, the lead singer was a drunk, they replaced him, then broke up, and now reunited to play together once again.

Shane's famously horrible teeth...oh those Irish lads.
I have a short little playlist together of some of my favorite songs by them. It in the playlist is my favorite Christmas song of all time (sorry HANSON) and a song that was performed during our wedding ceremony. I hope you give them a listen and it adds to your preparations for St. Patricks Day!

.shoave recap.

Hey everyone!

I hope you had a great weekend!! What did you do this weekend? I would love to hear! Dave and I had our Shoave weekend which included the following:

Watching lots and lots of TV and a few movies.
We have never had On Demand before
and used it to catch up on some tv shows we missed while we were gone.

Took tons of photos of us doing silly, stupid, things!
p.s. I am NOT choking Dave.

Made two recipes that had only three ingredients each!
Picture aboved: Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
We also made BBQ shredded chicken...SOO good!

All the awesomeness of the weekend took it's toll on us  (we are getting old)
so we added napping into our agenda.

All in all we had a great weekend. I'm sadly  proud to say I didn't leave the apartment once, watched lots of Project Runway All Stars, a silly movie about Scrabble, tried new recipes, and even got one workout done.

Now here is to having a great week!!
Anything fun planned for this week?

.shoave weekend.

This weekend is SHOAVE weekend and we both are really really excited. Even though Dave and I see each other most of the day everyday....it's just what happens when two people live together without jobs and think the other is pretty cool...we are in a total need for a SHOAVE weekend!

What is a SHOAVE weekend? It's a weekend when we just hang out the two of us; no friends, no to do lists, no errands, and no  little outside world connections. We get to do whatever we want and just hang out and reconnect.  We have been looking forward to this weekend all the way back when we were still in Australia!!

Our plans for this weekend are to eat lots of food (hopefully somewhat healthy) and watch LOTS and LOTS of movies!! Our tradition for New Years Eve and New Years Day was to stuff ourselves silly and have movie marathons, we didn't get to do it this year so we are doing it now! We have our list of foods to prepare, alcohol purchased, borrowed tons of movies from a friend, and are hurrying to get our to do lists finished in time.

What are your plans for this weekend?

p.s. ANY MOVIE SUGGESTIONS?

.gettin' organized.

Do you love organization tools?
I LOVE them. I own more planners and other organizational tools that I could probably use!

I know that many of you may already have gotten all organized for the new year, probably way before 2012 even started! However, I am just now getting it all together. I have found some cute printable planning pages that I am really excited about and HAVE to share with you! Who knows you may even love them yourself and print out a ton or few copies!

2012 Calendar:
I love how cute and simple this calendar is. I plan to place it on a clipboard and hang it our kitchen..and I'm soooo excited to use it! Eeep!

.happy birthday bieber.

If you didn't know, today is Justin Beiber's
18th birthday!

I  have a mild case of Bieber Fever.

I will break out into song in public places,
watch his movie on the Walmart tvs,
try to get my nieces to like him as much as I do,
and put puzzles of his face together.

I hope that he has a great birthday
and that he celebrates with cupcakes that have his face on them!

Happy Birthday Justin!
( I'm glad that I finally I don't have to feel like a creepy old woman!!!)

.february books.

February was a crazy month with moving across the world and settling into a new place, so I didn't really get a lot of time to read.  Hopefully, I pick it back up more next month! Here is what I what I did read:

Angela's Ashes: Frank McCourt - My dad recommended this book to me when he was visiting us. He has read it a few times and told me he cried more than once (and this is a big country guy!) so I knew I had to read it! I am soooo glad I did, this was a great book. I devoured it up and am looking to read the other book McCourt has written. In the words of my father, " If you ever plan on going to Ireland, you NEED to read this book." I would also say even if you don't want to go to Ireland, you should read this book!

Currently Reading:
I'll let you know how it is!

I'm 5/50 for my 2012 goal!

Love books? Let's be friends on GoodReads! here I am!
