Road Trip Playlist

Dave and I make our 22 hr cross country road trip from NOVA to MN in T minus 4 days! Everyone knows when you head on a road trip you need a great road trip mix. I have been thinking about this mix probably longer than I should and probably should be spending my time packing, but I believe that this is also very important and it sure beats packing!

Currently I have 73 songs selected for my road trip playlist, which adds up to 4.6 hours. Here are some of the songs that I can't wait to listen to on our drive:

1. Australia - Science with Girls
2. Bicycle Race - Queen
3. Shell Games - Bright Eyes
4. Houdini - Foster The People
5. Helena Beat - Foster The People
6. Lover I Don't Have To Love - Bright Eyes
7.Kiss With A Fist - Florence + The Machine
8. Thriller/ Heads Will Roll - GLEE Cast
9.Give A Little - Hanson
10. On Road Again - Willie Nelson
11. Baby - The Beibs
12.To Be With You - Mr. Big
13. My Body - Young the Giant
14. Young Blood - The Naked and Famous
15. Blankest Year - Nada Surf

What songs do you like for your Road Trip playlists?
Any great suggestions?

OOTW: Week #4

This past week has been crazy! We spent the time living out of our suitcases, spending 3 days here and then 3 days there...and then to come home to a broken washer. Eeeckkk....we reported it two days ago but it's still not fixed. It will be interesting to see what outfits I pull out of my hat this upcoming week, since most of my clothes are being packed for Australia.

Here are a few of the outfits I did wear this week (when I decided to get out of my comfy packing clothes):

Shirt and Skirt: Old Navy Shoes: Target
I love my new skirt - only $9! Whooott

Shirt and Shorts: Target
Dress and Cardigan: Target

Dress: Old Navy, Shirt: Lane Bryant Shoes: Urban Outfitters

What is your favorite item to wear in the summer?
Mine are easy to wear shoes - I tend to only wear two pairs the whole summer!

Hi Ho Hi Ho It's Up North We Go

Dave and I are about to head out, literally I'm just waiting him to get ready and then off we go! We will be gone for almost a week ( this stresses me out since we move/leave the country in 2 weeks!).

We are going to New Jersey to celebrate this wonderful woman's life and birthday:

Grandma Louise is turning 90
and we are going to surprise her with a little family gathering shin-dig!

After we spend the weekend with Dave's grandparents and family we are heading to Vermont to visit this lady:

Dave's Step-Mom - Joanne!

Joanne is one of the most caring people and genuinely loving that I have ever met. In Vermont we will be doing some walking trails, eating at my favorite restaurant The Royal Diner, and just being together as a family.

It will be great to spend the week with family, they all live within 12 hours but we don't see them nearly enough.

Hope you have a great week!
Hug someone you think is pretty neat
and
high five a stranger!

Happy Happy Birthday Carol Jean!

Today is my momma's birthday, it's a day when I feel both celebratory and sad. I know that today I would have teased her about how old she is getting, she would be 58 {what and old fart she would be!}, sang her Happy Birthday, and told her how much I love her {she was a very very very cool mom and loving person}. So today I will celebrate her great life and love, I will be thinking of her often throughout the day, eating some of her favorite foods, and telling my grandma and sister how much I love them.

Look at that little lady all dressed up

My favorite photo - I believe that my grandma passed a love of reading to both my mom and myself

My sisters and I carried these hearts with us when she was in the hospital. One of the reasons I got married on July 5th was so it close to her birthday, so she could be there with us celebrating every year.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CJ!
Miss you and love you!

SHOAVE!

Today marks the 3 year wedding anniversary of Dave and I, we refer to ourselves as Shoave, kind of like Bradgelina but without all the money and kids. I can't believe 3 years have already passed by, seriously where has the time gone?!?! In our three years we have had some really great times, adventures, and have had some really rough hard times. The best thing is that during any point of time, I know that if I look over to my side I will have my best friend right there ready for the next adventure or with the next tissue.
I couldn't stop smiling the whole day! I was one of the happiest brides!

Our first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Shoave Roberts

Our first trip as a married couple to see my friend Priyanka get married!

Morning of a 5k...we started running races together.

One year wedding anniversary!

Graduated with my MA in Higher Education
Celebrating 2 years at Great Falls, VA!

OOTW: Week #3

I am loving doing these posts and taking pictures! Dave is even getting in on the fun, he has started coming up with different ways to take pictures of the outfits. He is slowly becoming a little photographer, telling me how to pose and suggesting different layouts. Doing this has become a little bonding time for us each day, which is really great!

Here are the pictures from this week:

Everything is from Target expect my purse!

Again...everything is from Target!

Cardi: Old Navy, Cami:Lane Bryant, Shorts: Target, Shoes: Target

Shirt and Shoes: Target, Skirt: Torrid, Necklace: Target

Happy 4th of July!

Shirt and Cardi: Old Navy, Shorts and Shoes: Target, Necklace: Forever 21

WHOOOOAAAA... Just realized I wore my shorts 3 times this week and my shoes every day...is this what you call a rut or just being comfy?  Also my goal is to purchase more skirts, I have tons of dresses but no separates. I think this would help space out the over usage of the only pair of shorts I have! But I promise I do wash them, so they don't smell!

Happy 4th of July!

When I was a kid every year my mom, sisters, and I would wake up early in the morning to head up to Valleyfair, the amusement park in MN. The night before my mom would pack a large cooler with summer sausage sandwiches, pop, and treats while I laid in bed wide awake, to excited to sleep. We would arrive at the park right when it opened and stayed until after the fireworks. I would run right to the Merry Go Round, always starting my day off riding the horse up and down and round and round. I loved this tradition, it was one of few family traditions that we had. I looked forward to it every summer, the one day when we all would be together and have as much fun as possible! My oldest sister still carries this tradition out from time to time with her family, I hope to do the same with mine.

Here are some pictures that represent the Fourth of July for me:
