.Walk About.

When the sun is shining and both Dave and I are free for the day, we look at each other and say, "Let's Go!". Where we are going, we don't know. We just walk down to the TriMet station, get on the train and let the day take us. We usually grab some food at a food cart, eat in a park, and then spend the rest of the day walking down different streets, exploring this wonderful city. Here are some photos from our last walk about:

.We saw a bridge and walked to it. When we got closer we started singing,
"Under the Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

.A thing I love about the Pacific Northwest is ALL the classic cars
you find on the road. I drool over every single one of them.

.Broadway Bridge.

.Picture of a bridge through a bridge...i thought I was clever.
This is the Steel Bridge taken from the Broadway Bridge.

.Oregon Coast - Part 1.

GUESS WHAT!  If you didn't know, Dave and I moved to Portland, Oregon!!! Yep, we packed up our place in Minneapolis at the end of December and drove out west. Can I just tell you something, between you and me, I freakin LOVE it here! Don't worry, I will be sharing with you all of our adventure and exploring our new city.

Before we landed in Portland, we spent our holiday on the Oregon Coast, exploring while we waited for our apartment to be available. We haven't been to the ocean since living in Australia, we were LOOOONNNGGG overdue. If it wasn't December Dave and I would have ran into the ocean to give it a kiss, hello!  We spent the next day and half driving north up the coast, pulling over to look at the wonderful views, and enjoying the peace that the ocean has to offer you.

. We arrived in Lincoln City, OR just in time to watch the sunset on the beach on Christmas Eve.

.Neskowin Beach, Oregon.

This was our first stop on Christmas morning, we randomly pulled over and found this beautiful spot. What was so interesting about this location was the "river" of water that lead from the ocean into the bank. Also if you can see in the bottom picture, the ocean water rushed around the rock formation creating a river and met up with the ocean again on the other side. There were small currents and you could see the erosion from where the sand once measured. We walked around the area for a while, getting closer looks at the landscape, watching dogs and their owners play fetch, and dreaming about owning one of the houses with a view. It was a great first stop on our day full of adventure.

WIW: making a big decision

Last week I took a big gamble, risk, jump, leap...all those words you use when you make a decision that is scary and uncertain.  I did it, I made one that will move my dreams to being closer to reality. It happened all of a sudden...i woke up made a few phone calls and within 2 hours, BAAMMMM, leap taken!! So what does one wear on such an occasion? Whatever they threw on that morning...and this is that outfit.

I woke up with no plans for the day but to sit at my desk and do work on the computer. Therefore, I wanted something that was comfortable but not be in my sweats. Cause let's face it..its SOOO easy to wear pjs and sweatpants when you don't plan on leaving the apartment! The great thing is that these pants are basically dressy sweatpants....I LOVE THEM!!  When we drove out west I swear I wore them everyday!!

OH, can we talk about this shirt for a second! I honestly believe it was made with me in mind, it's such a pretty skull! I love the gold tinted butterflies flying around and out of it, such a hauntingly beautiful shirt. Remember last time I told you I loved hard and soft, I wasn't lying to ya!

.5 goods things this week.

1. Girls on the Run PDX started this week!!! This is my third season coaching and the first time in Portland. I'm super excited to get to know the girls better and get to running! This week we got to know everyone on our team and how to plug into the positive Girls on the Run plug!

2. This RV is now mine and I have MAJOR plans for it!! Making such a big purchase and moving forward with my dream makes me excited and want to throw up all at the same time! I don't like not knowing what I'm doing and this is all that waits ahead of me!

3. Housewives of New York City is back!!!! YEEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!! I love these crazy, loud, rude, entitled, dramatic (I could go on) ladies. I think it's because I don't have drama in my life (don't want it either) but I love watching it on tv. I'm such a sucker for trashy reality tv...I can't help it. How can someone not love Ramona 'Crazy Eyes' Singer?

4. People doing amazing things for abandoned puppies - melts my heart and makes me cry. Have you read this story yet, about the dog someone thought was a pile of trash? Thankfully, they took a closer look and discovered it was a dog and then changed the dogs life forever. It was an amazing transformation from heavy, matted furball to a handsome prince.

5. I got a job (part time) with this amazing non-profit!! I am sooo excited to go and start work on Monday! The Friends of the Library works to raise funds so that the library never has to worry about it's budget getting cut by the government. I LOVE the library and now I get to help support it while getting paid...amazing!!

.Running Songs To Download.

One of my goals this month is to run a mile a day, sometimes more than one mile. So far I have ran 19 miles, not to shabby for only 10 days into the month! When I run I need to listen to music, it's the only thing that keeps me going and focused. With the goal of running more this month and training for a half marathon, I needed more tunes. Here is a list of some of the top songs on my running playlist right now. Take a listen and you may just want to download them yourself! ( you can find 13 more songs here!)

1. The Man :: Aloe Blacc
2. The Walker :: Fitz & The Tantrums
3. Warrior :: Mark Foster + A-Trak + Kimbra
4. Happy :: Pharrell Williams
5. Timber (feat. Ke$ha) :: Pitbull
6. Pompeii :: Bastille
7. State of Massachusetts :: Dropkick Murphy's
8. Chloe :: Grouplove
9: I Love It (feat. CharliXCX) :: Icona Pop
10. San Francisco :: The Mowgli's

What are you listening to?

.WIW: MN pride + guest model.

Can you feel it?!  The sun starting to shine a little bit brighter, the air becoming a bit warmer, the charge of spring slowly poking it's head out? I most definitely can feel it and am welcoming it with open arms! Whenever the sun is shining here in Portland, I feel like I HAVE to wear a dress or skirt, there is no other option! The sun is shining and I must obey by wearing spring clothes.

.meet Maggie - our guest model who also decided that
she loves spring and wanted to share in the celebration of it.

Not only when the sun is shining do I feel the need to wear skirts or dresses, I feel the need to wear bright colors. Your outfits are starting to show color and bloom just like the flowers around you. Matching bright colors is easy, just make sure you pair them with a color that isn't overwhelming and can stabilize your outfit. For me that is my grey skirt with black tights.

.this is one of my adult bff necklaces, this one says
 "Best Fucking Friends" when the heart is together.

.sometimes Maggie likes to walk to places she shouldn't be, like parking lots,
and just stand there staring at cars. This is when I get to carry her 70lb. butt back to safety.

I LOVE these boots, I wear them all the time with jeans, dresses, skirts, anything. They help give my outfits the edge that I desire. I am a huge fan of wearing semi-girly clothes with harder accessories. I'm a sucker for almost anything that has studs, spikes, or skulls. The key is to wear them in moderation, don't over do it and try to wear all of them at the same time!
